Formation flight

On September 22, 2012, in flight from Grenoble to Gap on a friend's MCR-ULM 01-ULC, we met an EUROPA XS Monowheel plane and we had a pleasant moment of formation flight which I now share with you thanks to the video on the opposite side. This video shows that an ULM (as long as it is fast enough, which is the case with MCR) and a light aircraft (like the EUROPA XS) can fly in formation. Presented on this link in English, the EUROPA XS is best known for its 'monowheel' type landing gear i.e. a single retractable wheel in the center of the fuselage and a tail wheel. It is a fast aircraft that offers minimal drag and is particularly suitable for glider pilots and regulars of conventional trains. Indeed, to minimize drag, gliders usually use this type of landing gear. You can see the variants of such a landing gear on this other link next in French.
